Residential Building Materials Sales

This is a combination of in office and job/construction site work environment. Relocation or Commute Required to the Park Rapids area is required.

Pay Range: $50,000 - $110,000 per year, uncapped commissions.

Qualification: 2-3 Years of Construction Sales experience minimum. Valid vehicle drivers license required.

Are you interested in a fast paced and rewarding career? Hilltop Lumber is looking to hire a full-time Experienced Building Materials Salesperson to join our fun, fast, and hardworking team. Hilltop Lumber is a family owned and operated company serving professional contractors and homeowners since 1988. This is not a work remote position. We are located in Park Rapids Minnesota, with other locations in Alexandria, Ottertail and Glenwood MN.

Position Overview: This role is involved in the planning, sales and estimating of new construction and remodeling of residential and commercial building projects. Pay for this position will be commission based with a draw and an opportunity for a very good income.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Consult with contractors & customers on their building plans & projects.

2. Prepare material lists for each drawing as a work in progress.

3. Demonstrate good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of customer, company and personnel information.

4. Seek guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties.

5. Maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow employees.

6. Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning in investigating and solving problems.

7. Determining construction required to support plan design.

8. Size beams for plan.

9. Prepare estimates of material square foot costs as needed.

10. Perform all other duties assigned.

Skills & abilities:

· Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

· Lumber and building materials experience required.

· Desire and work ethic to learn and understand construction industry

· Math skills to calculate using simple geometry and algebra

· Ability to effectively present features and benefits and answer questions.
